The Tibetan Emporium

The Tibetan Emporium is a specialty store located at 5 Rock City Road in Woodstock, New York 12498. We carry handcrafted and traditional goods from Tibet, Nepal, India and other Asian countries which can decorate you or your home or assist your practice. Our business is run by Tibetans. Please call 845-679-3808 if you would like more information or to order any of the following items:   

  • Rugs: Both new and antique Tibetan rugs, as well as some other rugs
  • Furniture: Tibetan ceremonial tables and jade and coral screens from China
  • Home decor items: Many of the items below were traditionally used in shrines in Tibet and now may be used in the home.
    • Blue and white silk brocade door curtains with yellow, red, and beige hand embroidery of the eight auspicious emblems. (Door curtains are used in all Tibetan homes.)

      Small chephur; hanging cylindrical shape

      Large gyaltsen (larger handing banner, embroidered with the six syllable mantra (Om Mani Peme Hung)

      Kaphen; a banner traditionally used in Tibet to wrap around pillars. Today it is hung on walls in houses.With multicolored threads and silk brocade

  • Clothing -- A large selection of items at reasonable prices
    • Traditional Tibetan shirts (raw silk and cotton) in many colors, for men and women

      Wool jackets (cardigans and pull-overs)

      Wool and cotton vests (sleeveless)

      Silk, chiffon , and cotton scarves (long and square)

  • Traditional Tibetan hats (for men and women, lined with fake fur and fur, with four flaps, brocaded in multi-colors on top)
  • Woolen gloves and hats (hand knitted)
  • Himalayan hats (multi-colors, velvet, trimmed with brocade)
  • Accessories: Backpacks, small bags, and purses
  • Jewelry
  • Mahakala masks (red and black)
  • Pakistani hats (velvet, gold brocade threads)
  • Ladaki hats (wool with textured trim)
  • Tee-shirts (cotton, embroidered with Nepali, Mt. Everest and flaming jewel designs)

  • Meditation materials: Cushions, singing bowls and madala plates (silver)
