The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche in San Francisco in December

An intensive teaching retreat open to the public will be held in San Francisco from Dec. 9-15, 2002 in Santa Sabina Retreat Center, San Rafael, CA. Rinpoche will teach on Dzogchen & Egolessness: The Path to Peace. Registration details are available in the Acrobat file link attached to the retreat announcement page here.

Seattle Nalandabodhi has announced the teaching visit of Khenpo Rinpoche from November 21-27. Details will be announced soon.

 

Nalandabodhi Study Curriculum
Nalandabodhi Study Curriculum Officially Launches

Although the Nalandabodhi Study Curriculum has been underway for some years, this September marks a new beginning for the curriculum. All four semesters of the class are slated to open, beginning with Hinayana View in September. This will be followed by Hinayana Path and Fruition in the Spring. Next year we will lauch Mahayana View and Mahayana Path and Fruition. Sourcebooks for the classes have either been published or are in development, as well as a detailed teacher's manual which guides Nalandabodhi instructors.

 

Nalandabodhi Online Resources
Nalandabodhi Online Discussion Forums Reopen

After a hiatus caused by a move to a new server, the Nalandabodhi online discussion forums have reopened. The online forums allow participants to post messages and respond to others who post, strengthening the Nalandabodhi online community. The reopening features forums focused on the Nalandabodhi study curriculum.

Acharya Sherab Gyaltsen Negi teaching on Progressive Stages

Acharya Sherab Gyaltsen will be teaching on the Progressive Stages of Meditation based on the text of the same name by Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche. The class is in preparation for Khenpo Rinpoche's visit in November, where familiarity with the text will be required for admission.

Nalandabodhi Mahamudra Retreat 2002
May 10-19
The Nalandabodhi Retreat for 2002 successfully concluded. We received teachings from The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche on Mahamudra shamatha based on Mahamudra: the Ocean of Definitive Meaning (Ngedon Gyamtso) by the 9th Gyalwang Karmapa Wangchuk Dorje. We were also graced by the teachings of Druppon Khenpo Lodro Namgyal on the same subject, of Acharya Lama Tenpa Gyaltsen on the Special Mahamudra Preliminaries, Acharya Sherab Gyaltsen Negi on the Common and Uncommon Preliminaries, and numerous other events.

Seminars will be available for Nalandabodhi members and students of The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche who did not attend the 2001 or 2002 Nalandabodhi Retreat and would like to attend future retreat programs on Mahamudra: the Ocean of Definitive Meaning (Ngedon Gyamtso).

The first year Ngedon Gyamtso classes are being offered for students who missed retreat 2001 or 20002 and want to receive the instructions. Students who attended retreat 2001 are also encouraged to attend. More details will follow when available.

Bodhi Volume 5, No. 1 is now available
Bodhi Magazine issue 9 is at your newsstands now. The magazine  features songs, teachings and information on Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche, the teachings of The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, teachings by Acharya Tenpa Gyaltsen and news of His Holiness the Seventeenth Karmapa.
