Deepening Experience Through Study
The Nalandabodhi Study Curriculum is one of the first complete sources of Buddhist studies materials ever assembled in English. The study program is offered in three contexts: at Nalandbodhi Centers and Study Groups, through interactive technology on-line, and individual home study. The curriculum consists of four study levels: Introduction to Buddhism, Hinayana, Mahayana, and Vajrayana. It is also designed to offer students opportunities to integrate practice with their studies. For a detailed overview of the curriculum, go to the Nalandabodhi Study Curriculum Section. |
Higher Buddhist Studies
Founded in 1996, the Institute challenges practitioners to examine and use their everyday thought and speech as primary tools for discovering the unconditioned wisdom and spontaneous compassion that mark the definitive meaning (Skt. nitartha) of the buddhadharma. At the same time, under the close guidance of some of the most eminent teachers in the Kagyü and Nyingma lineages, Nitartha inspires everyone to practice and question what they learn in an atmosphere of generosity, quick-witted good humor, and gentle yet rigorous analysis. The curriculum includes topics on:
- Analytic Meditation
- Buddhist Logic
- The Collected Topics Of Buddhist Debate
- The Views And Tenets Of The Philosophical Schools Of Buddhism
- Madhyamaka: The Philosophy Of Emptiness
- Buddha Nature Treatises
- Paths And Bhumis
See details of the curriculum at the Nitartha Institute website. |
